Start the tour in Edinburgh, where you will stay in the luxurious Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, set in the shadow of the dramatic Edinburgh Castle. Enjoy playing at the Carnoustie Championship course as well as The Renaissance Club - one of the newer courses on the tour, but perhaps the greatest installment yet.

You will then be transferred to St Andrews for three nights, where you will "stay and play" at St Andrews, the Home of Golf.  Play dream courses such as St Andrews Old Course and Castle Course, and stay at the Rusacks Hotel - perhaps the most famous golf hotel in the world!

After conquering the home of golf, enjoy two nights at the magnificent Turnberry Hotel and play at the world renowned Turnberry Ailsa Course - home to many a British Open - as well as the Royal Troon Old course, one of the finest championship courses in the world.

Next stop is Liverpool where you will overlook many famous landmarks and sightseeing musts at the Hilton Hotel. The next two days you will play at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club and then the Royal Birkdale Golf before the tour heads to Blackpool for the last four nights.  Blackpool is very close to Royal Lytham St Annes where you will attend the Open for the Friday and Sunday rounds.

We break up the Open with a game on the Saturday at St Annes Old Links which is hosting the final qualifying round for the Open the week before so it will be in great condition.

Geoff Thomas's 2011 British Open Tour Diary

"Day Five Was the day we had all been dreaming of since the first time we hit a golf ball…. playing the Old Course at St Andrews. The weather was perfect with just a small breeze. We had a small gallery watching from behind and when the starter called my name the nerves hit. My caddy handed me the driver and said "big breath lad and swing away" in his strong Scottish accent..."

"The 2011 British Open Tour will provide me with years of special memories. The fantastic courses that we played all had so much history and presence. Whilst all links courses they were all unique in their own way. Presentation, scenery, tee positions, weather, club houses, caddies on the day, all made for an air of excitement as we made our way to the course and lots of discussion afterwards. The genuine friendliness of the Scottish people and their knowledge and love of the game added to the overall experience. The attention to detail from Teed Up was outstanding. Everything went smoothly with a minimum of fuss with Bede and Mike making sure everyone was having a good time."

"What Lord’s is to Cricket and Wimbledon is to Tennis, St Andrews is to Golf. For golfers, going there is either a pilgrimage, or on the bucket list. John Digby made his trip in time for the 28th Open Championship with Teed Up Golf Tours." To read more of this article by John Digby in Luxury Travel Magazine click here
